FormatterHub started with a small annoyance: every time we needed to clean up a messy JSON payload or check an XML file, the "free online formatter" we found was covered in ads, asked us to sign up, or quietly sent our data somewhere we couldn't see. So we built the tool we actually wanted to use.

Today FormatterHub covers 29 formats -- JSON, XML, YAML, JavaScript, CSS, config files and more -- with the same simple idea running through all of them: paste your content, get a clean result, and never wonder where your data went. Most tools run entirely in your browser. The ones that touch our API keep only a short, truncated preview, never the full payload.

We're a small team of working engineers who reach for tools like this dozens of times a week, which is exactly why we're picky about getting the details right -- precise error locations, honest formatting (we tell you when something is "best effort" rather than pretending it's perfect), and a fast, uncluttered interface.
